BEHZAD RANJBARAN
Songs of Eternity

TCHAIKOVSKY
Symphony No. 4 in F Minor, Op. 36

* This work will not be performed during the Casual Chic Friday concert. Instead, enjoy 30 minutes of free entertainment in the main lobby starting at 6:45 p.m.

Most symphonic concerts include at least one work designated as “People’s Choice,” chosen by our patrons through an audience survey.

Hailed as “a master of the orchestra” by the Dallas Morning News, Behzad Ranjbaran is known for his rich orchestration balanced by delicate beauty. Our tribute begins with the lovely Awakening for string orchestra. The enchanting Songs of Eternity will be performed by Hanan Alattar, whose soaring voice received rave reviews locally in the title role of Rusalka in 2005. Tchaikovsky’s emotional Fourth Symphony takes us from the gloom of melancholy to life-affirming energy.
