Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute Link Up Program
Designed by Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute, this year-long symphonic music study increases performing, creating, and listening skills through classroom instruction and interactive concerts.  The Link Up program is currently open only to 4th grade students in the Fort Worth Independent School District. These performances are not open to the public.

The Orchestra Sings
February 28 and March 1, 2019
Doxology Bible Church

Utilizing materials provided free of charge by Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute, music teachers in the Fort Worth ISD guide their 4th grade students in exploring symphonic music through a yearlong, hands-on music curriculum. Nearly 7,000 4th graders participate in active music making in the classroom and learn repertoire on the recorder or with their voice.

This season's Link Up program – The Orchestra Sings – explores melodies from a wide range of colorful orchestral repertoire including Dvorak’s “New World” Symphony and Beethoven’s Ode to Joy.  The culmination of the yearlong program is a live performance in which students have the opportunity to sing and/or play their recorder along with the Fort Worth Symphony.

Fort Worth Youth Orchestra
The FWSO provides students in the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra with the opportunity to work one-on-one with professional musicians through sectional rehearsals and side-by-side performances.  The Youth Orchestra and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra will perform together on the Bass Performance Hall stage in the spring of 2019.  For more information about the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra, please visit

Glen Rose ISD Cultural Partnership
FWSO’s collaboration with the Glen Rose Independent School District includes in-school performances, master classes with high school band members and FWSO principal players, and various other concert experiences throughout the school year.  Through this innovative program, a GRISD student will interact with the Orchestra more than 30 times during their K-12 career.  This partnership is made possible by generous underwriting from the John and Frances Wasilchak Charitable Fund of the Community Foundation of North Texas.

Symphony In Your School
Symphony in Your School provides an opportunity for Title I elementary schools and middle schools in Fort Worth to partner with the Fort Worth Symphony throughout the 2018-2019 school year. Through these partnerships, select schools receive opportunities for students in each grade level to experience the orchestra at no cost to the school, including in-school performances by the full orchestra and free admission for students to attend Young Persons’ Concerts, Kinderconcerts and Open Rehearsals.

Symphony in Your School is made possible by grants from the Arts Council of Fort Worth and other organizations.
