The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Association seeks an exceptional individual for the full-time position of Marketing Manager. As a key member of the Marketing team, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for assisting in the development and coordinating the execution of the various advertising campaigns designed to generate both single ticket and subscription sales for the FWSO. He/she will monitor and track revenue trends and advertising results, providing feedback on efforts across advertising platforms. He/she will establish and maintain effective business partnerships with local media contacts, printers, and graphic artists to ensure maximum impact is reached within budgetary guidelines. Additionally, the Marketing Manager will track and monitor all expenses and invoicing for the Marketing department, working with the Vice Presidents of Marketing and Finance to keep all marketing efforts accountable.
This is a full-time position which requires both on-site and off-site duties, as well as some evening and weekend hours.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists Vice President of Marketing with development of single ticket advertising plan, monitoring sales patterns, and ensuring revenue goals are met or exceeded.
  • Negotiates and places all media buys for print, radio, television, digital, and outdoor platforms, ensuring that the FWSO receives preferred scheduling, pricing, and reach for maximum exposure.
  • Writes ad copy and coordinates production of television, radio, print and digital ads.
  • Serves as liaison to the outside graphic artist to ensure timely production of all printed collateral.
  • Executes direct mail plans for subscription and single ticket campaigns, generating targeted mailing lists from the FWSO’s ticketing system, and working with outside vendors to facilitate timely design, printing, and distribution of each piece.
  • Executes email plan using in-house system to design and schedule promotional messages as well as triggered patron communications.
  • Codes, submits, and tracks all vendor invoices and assists Vice President of Marketing with managing and monitoring the marketing budget, providing recommendations for monthly forecasts.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required in Marketing, Communications, Arts Management, or related field
  • Detail-oriented person, capable of working under pressure, managing multiple projects, and consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Strategic thinker with creativity, innovative vision, and passion for out-of-the-box ideas.
  • Strong budgeting and forecasting skills with expertise using Microsoft Excel.
  • Understanding of changing media consumption habits and willingness to adapt and use new outlets and applications as they manifest.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in negotiating advertising buys on multiple platforms. Current local affiliations a plus.
  • Efficient time management and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of and appreciation for classical music.
  • Basic graphic design skills are a plus.
